Seismic Survey Contracts Awarded
NORWAY POST - StatoilHydro has awarded contracts for towed multi-streamer surveys for 2009, totalling NOK 1200 million to PGS Geophysical, CGG Veritas and Wavefield Inseis. The contracts cover surveys on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, the Faroes and Ireland. The award to PGS Geophysical also includes use of new technology for three dimentional surveys.

Until recently, however, the available large-scale elevation datasets lacked precision and were outdated – some of the most-used data was more than 50 years old. Intermap Technologies, one of the companies most actively exploring and taking advantage of new opportunities in the elevation data space, has developed a highly accurate statewide elevation dataset for California leading to innovative developments in land use planning and floodplain mapping.
