HINDU TIMES - There could be more properties in the core area of the city compared to the available data with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)! This has long been suspected but preliminary confirmation has come through surveys conducted by private agencies in the former MCH jurisdiction. Ironically, the work was for the GIS project, which is yet to see the light of the day!

Seismic Survey Contracts Awarded Print E-mail

NORWAY POST - StatoilHydro has awarded contracts for towed multi-streamer surveys for 2009, totalling NOK 1200 million to PGS Geophysical, CGG Veritas and Wavefield Inseis. The contracts cover surveys on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, the Faroes and Ireland. The award to PGS Geophysical also includes use of new technology for three dimentional surveys.

STAR-TELEGRAM - As North Texans sweltered through another 100-degree-plus day, the windmills around Sweetwater turned lazily in the West Texas breeze, generating enough electricity to power about 250,000 homes.It’s not much — barely 1 percent of the peak electricity demand Monday for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, operator of the transmission grid for about 75 percent of the state.
