Gordon Brown Promotes Satellites to Monitor Deforestation

In a meeting over the weekend in Trinidad, Prime Minister Gordon Brown promoted the idea of a new Launch Fund that would be funded by richer countries to incentivize poorer countries to halt deforestation and develop low-carbon energy sources. To police the program, Brown suggested a constellation of remote sensing satellites to monitor compliance.
