Green Maps Take Hold
green, mapmaking February 11th, 2008
Communities are using maps to communicate a greener and more sustainable future. The maps are pulling together details on green businesses, natural food stores, community parks, bike paths, farmers markets, museums, recycling centers and other unique and green offerings.
The idea started with the Green Apple Map that debuted in 1995, and has continued worldwide with the aligned Green Map System, and its multilingual website. A story in Mother Earth News details the progress of the movement, indicating that there are now 165 green map projects in 36 countries.

many thanks for including Green Map – today, we have reached the 450 projects in 50 countries mark! Our third edition of our iconography debuts shortly, too.
best wishes, Wendy
