The computer game designer Richard Garriott is set to travel to the International Space Station on Oct. 12 via Russia’s Soyuz launch vehicle. Garriott follows in the steps of his father Owen Garriott, a NASA astronaut that flew missions to Skylab. The younger Garriott will be re-photographing some of the same places of ecological signifigance on Earth that his father photographed 30 years ago. The effort aims to assist the Nature Conservancy of which he is  a member.
