Obama Outlines Job Growth Plan

by Matt Ball on December 7, 2008

President-elect Barack Obama outlined his plans for job growth in his weekly address yesterday (view below). On the list is investment in making public buildings more energy efficient, upgrading school buildings, increasing broadband Internet access, and modernizing health care. He indicated that he is working to outline the plan in detail so that it can be passed quickly when he takes office.

The plan for direct government spending also includes infrastructure spending, including mass transit, electrical grids, dams, and other public utilities. A green jobs component would invest in such things as alternative fuels, wind and solar power.
