Sign to Save Polar Bear

The We Campaign has organized a petition drive to convince the Secretary of Interior Dirk Kempthorne that the polar bear should be listed as an endangered species. Earlier this year, the U.S. Geological Survey recommended the protection of the bear’s habitat, stating that a full two thirds of the population could be lost by 2050 if nothing is done.
Just this week a federal judge gave a May 15 deadline to the Bush administration in order to stop delaying the decision on whether to list it as an endangered species. The Department of Interior had hoped to delay the decision until the end of June, even after missing an original Jan. 15 deadline.
