As part of World Health Day, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released a video about biodiversity that explores the EPA’s involvement in the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS). GEOSS aims to coordinate environmental monitoring worldwide.

The EPA uses this platform to combine data across different scales and academic disciplines. Among the area s that EPA scientists are exploring with GEOSS are the scientific factors linking human-caused environmental stressors (such as deforestation and climate change), changes in biological diversity, and the transmission of diseases from animals to people.
